Oakland Don’t Play (ODP) is a conscious clothing brand birthed September 11, 2020, by Oakland native Shauncy “Salt” Jackson in a response to a rise of racial discrimination and gentrification in Oakland, such as the BBQ Becky incident at Lake Merritt. Salt wanted to create something to constantly remind people that Oakland Don’t Play about their people, or land, or equality. ODP drops dope apparel for the whole family that makes bold statements while showcasing Oakland Pride. Collection inspirations come from everything Oakland.

ODP is more than just a clothing brand. It's a movement to remind the world that Oakland stands strong for its people, land, and unwavering commitment to equality. Inspired by the injustices faced by our community, ODP creates bold, fashion-forward clothing that proudly showcases Oakland pride. From the vibrant streets of Fruitvale to the serene shores of Lake Merritt, the designs capture the essence of our city and the spirit of its people. In 2022, the store was opened our backyard in Oakland. This physical space serves as a hub for our community, hosting events and providing a place for people to connect.

Why choose ODP?
